Anyone think today's ACT was extremely difficult?

You’re all right. The background information was so difficult.

I mean, who knows that Saturn is a larger planet than Earth or Mars?
You should definitely call

(sarcasm)

Seriously, that is like 5th grade science right there! ACT clearly states that some prior knowledge is required, like in math where you needed to know the formula for the cylinder.

Honestly, the planet question was the only easy one in science.

^^ You know what? I’m sorry, but I really didn’t know. And I was trying to figure out if Earth was bigger than Saturn, and I was thinking about diameter and whether or not Saturn’s rings counted and I got really upset. And almost everyone I talked to said the same thing.

But apparently I got it right =]

And you clearly skipped the last passage if you thought the question about the planets was the easiest.

That planet question was insanely easy. It’s literally grade 1 science that I thought everyone knew. :</p>

IT WAS NOT EASY!!! YOU’RE MAKING ME FEEL SO STUPID!!! =[

I don’t think I’ve learned anything about astronomy since like 3rd grade. And I had no idea that Saturn is big.

If the question were, say, what is the SECOND largest of Mercury, Earth, Mars, and Venus, I bet most of you would’ve had no idea.

HotIvy, I got caught up on the same question, and I unfortunately picked Mars.

You’re smarter than me atleast.

But the ACT claims that it tests basic knowledge in subjects, and that is basic knowledge. If it were comparing Uranus and Neptune, I can see how people could be confused but Saturn to three of the smallest planets in the solar system?

The one I thought might confuse people was the conduction one, but I had basic knowledge in that area too so I knew the answer…

this is humours…?your going to call and complain? haha

I thought the science was in between, not really easy but not extremely hard. that planet question tripped me up for a minute, but I think i got it right.

^humorous*

Well I called ACT today.

I pressed the button for operator, and when she answered I told her I wanted to file a complaint about the content on the April 4th Exam.

She told me to wait on hold, so I listented to Sophie B. Hawkins sing “As I lay me Down” as the hold music nervously.

The same woman answered and asked what exactly I wanted to complain about. I just said “planets” ad then I heard As I Lay Me Down for like 2 seconds, and then she hung up.

science definitely threw me off. i didn’t even finish it, unfortunately and ended up marking C all the way down for the last 5 questions.

I thought I was the only one who thought the Science was hard. Seriously…there was wayyy too much info in there to sift through then answer with the time constraint! I’ll probably look like a total loser when my scores are released!

I know. I completely ran out of time to read the last two passages. I didn’t know anything about conduction, radiation and convection. I knew I had covered them, but I just couldn’t remember. Grrr. Stupid Science.

How’d you guys do for your test scores? It was my first time taking it and I have to admit I’m pretty disappointed. >:(

My daughter’s first time, too, and it wasn’t pretty. She’s taking a class now, so hopefully June’s test will go better.

I got a 33 on it. I normally did better on the math, but it was my lowest. But the english was very high (35).

Being my first taking it, I didn’t know what to expect, but I thought that in comparison to the SAT it was much easier.

Overall I got a composite score of 31, my highest area score being reading at a 34.
