Anyone took National French Contest?

You mean the one run by the AATF? I did that in 7th grade I believe. I got 8th place in Westchester County, New York in the 01 division.

If its anything similar to the National Spanish Exam, then a lot of people win stuff.
I was won of 4 people who got 4trophies last year in a class of 12

I'm taking it later this year (in March, I think). I was going to last year but I got lazy and decided not to take it after all.

So how much exactly does it help to place first nationally on the exam for the college admissions process at a selective university such as an ivy league school (assuming you are already a competitive applicant)? I looked at the statisitics for the exam on their website and it seems very few people get first place (even though almost everyone get some sort of prize).

I know I am posting 4 years later, but in case anyone was still interested, here are the specifications for different levels in the National French Contest…

We got our results back today.
I placed 6th in my region and 13th in the nation :/.
Oh well, I’ll try harder next year!

Oh that’s quite terrible. You’re never getting into community college.

Congrats, that’s actually really good, though if you’re 6th in your region yet 13th in the nation…what is your region?

I’m pretty sure it’s Delaware and Pa… Or maybe just De?

Idk. French is my strong suit. I made a lot of silly mistakes ):
I really wanted top 10! Oh well, there’s always next year, I guess.

At my school it’s mandatory to take it, so I’ve had to take it since seventh grade.
