Anyone watched any good movies this winter break?

"bottle shock" i think it's an indie about wine making - it was actually really good.

idk I really liked Button. I thought it was a cute story about, well, the cycle of one's life.

The idea for Button had potential (I mean, I'm sure the Fitzgerald story is awesome), but I thought the movie's pacing and balance was really off. It almost seemed like the filmakers were going for an epic odyssey-esque story at times but just failed, making it really awkward. And at times it was just plain dull. I give credit to the actors, but the acting didn't make up for the other defects in my opinion. But to each their own.

I agree with ansar about tom cruise. for some reason I really just don't like him as an actor. While Valkyrie was pretty good, I might've enjoyed it more without him.

Definitely saw a few good ones

Curious Case of Benjamin Button (Longgg but good)
Transporter 1-3 (eh....)
Frost/Nixon (honestly, i dont really know much of my history and about watergate but i liked this movie)
7 Pounds (pretty sad movie, but memorable)
Slumdog Millionaire (i thought this was pretty memorable as well)
Taken (awesome, had me on the edge of the seat)

Am I the only one that thought Benjamin Button was nearly identical to Forrest Gump?

The curious case of Ben Button

The Dutchess ( kind of dirty lol.)

Eagle Eye

Dark Knight (again)

and Pirates of the Carribean

Religulous - Funny as hell; not just for non-religous people

The Castle of Cagliostro - Awesome cartoon version of James Bond, very entertaining

Forbidden Kingdom (Jet Li and Jackie Chan... why did you agree to this, such a shame)

Pulp Fiction for the first time. Pretty good, but I don't see how it's "#6 of all time" (imdb)

Dark Knight again. Totally wicked.

seven pounds...didn't like it

Jake,
the techniques pulp fiction (the use of delineated plot told in a reverse order) were so unique. you have to really know the cultural references in pulp to really get it... watch it again. maybe more of it will make sense? it's really good. it just takes time.

i watched a few old movies(and rewatched some) like 7 years in tibet and terminator. the first i'd never seen before, but its so good. I would highly recommend it. and the second one most of us have watched before.

I watched Button, Doubt, Stardust, The Host, and a few asian movies. I thought Doubt and The Host were pretty good, and Button was okay. It was so dang long though. And whoever said button = forest gump, I agree with you. And Stardust..well, I adore that movie. :) Yay cheesy asian movies based on really long badly written or translated stories that I still like anyways because they're cute.

I watched:

-Benjamin Button
-Marley & Me
-Slumdog Millionaire
-The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
-How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
-Father of the Bride
-The Fall (so so so so so so gorgeous)
-Snatch <---LOVED Brad Pitt in this.

My parents saw Pulp Fiction when it was first out in theaters, and when they saw it they were the only ones who thought it was funny. They were cracking up through the whole movie and apparently got a lot of angry "thou shalt not laugh at high art" reactions from other snooty moviegoers. lol.

Button and Forrest Gump were similar because Eric Roth did the screenplay for both. I thought it was really good, probably the best picture of the year.

I watched 6 steven seagal films lol

I saw Benjamin Button and I thought it was superb! It wasn't like a tragedy or anything but I definitely wept some tears.
I saw The Dark Knight too..for the sixth time lol. Excellent movie, excellent acting.

Slumdog Millionaire is the best!

I also want to see Benjamin Buttons and Valkyrie. But I'm slightly hesitant to see Valkyrie because I know all the people we like die at the end.

GRAN TORINO. that was a great movie. eastwood was amazing and the ending has a great meaning
