Anyone worried that UCB/UCLA will be "too hard?"

I think your roommate is right. I thought the class would have a bit more policy theory incorporated in it, but it seems to just focus on micro all over again. Even though that’s expected, it looks exactly like my micro midterms :/

181 is looking really good to me right about now. I think I might just wait on 140 until I get a little more comfortable with statistics.

yeah, i knew it was a programming class, it was the reason i thought it’d be easier lol, well that and a bit of help from courserank and ratemyprof, and darn, the econ department shouldn’t say they’d accept “any” upperdiv stats course then…oh well, i’m calling the department today, hopefully i won’t have to take an upperdiv to begin with lol

actually on the website they say they don’t accept stat 133.

edit: i’m wrong they say any upper div but by statistics course i’m guessing they mean a course where you actually do some sort of statistics rather than the department name. Also, the stat requirement is usually what kills people since the average gpa for the stat department is one of the lowest in L&S ~2.8.

yeah, i keep hearing how hard it is, the reason i want to do 133 is cuz courserank shows kaufman as giving 58% A’s lol, and the course describes itself as applied statistics…so hopefully the econ department will accept it :] lol

Just got off the phone with the Econ adviser and she said that we DO NOT need to take an upper division stats class. She said that we need to take Stats 20/21/25, but it will just not give us any credit if we took a stats class before. In essence, we are just fulfilling the stats requirement.

That kinda sucks, but at the same time it sounds much better than an upper div stats course haha.

Hey, it’s much better than taking a stats course that Berkeley math majors say is incredibly difficult.

Like I said, it sounds better than taking an upper div stats course :P

:P I’m excited… tomorrow will decide whether I choose the school or not… hopefully
