I just found out I got into WashU!! So excited!! Anyone else??

Btw, I am going to a junior in the engineering school

Holy moley CONGRATS!!! I submitted on March 15th So i find out on april 15th i guess ahah. Can you tell your stats? You dont have to if you dont want to, im just really nervous

congrats!
my friend just got admitted to the business school

thankssss!

i go to george washington u, gpa 3.87
i didn’t submit midterm report, neither did i have any recommendations…
a good amount of activities in freshman year, very few in the second year
i spent more than a month writing the common app essay, so it should be pretty good

my SAT is pretty bad because im international student…

Congratulation superzhkch! My SATs are bad too and you lighten some hope for me, really! When did you submit your application and did you apply for aid?

@ Castiel: why apply to too many same college (as far as I know Cornell, WashU and Amherst). I really hope we’ll see each other at one of those lolz

peace out

I got a really strange letter from them…

they said that only first semester transcripts are required. I sent them those AND I sent a mid-semester grade report. Last week, when I was expecting an admission decision, they sent me a letter asking me for final spring semester transcripts, which will come out in late may. Only after receiving those grades will they make an admission decision.

Now I don’t know what to think… Is this a good or a bad sign??

Did this happen to anyone else??

Congrats superzhkch!! Did you apply for aid and if you don’t mind can you share which country you are from? I am also an international transfer to WashU.

@duynguyen89: my app was completed on mar 2nd and i didn’t apply for FA

@guesswho2232: that’s weird, did you call/email them? they never contacted me before i got admitted, they never ask me for things… i just made sure all those green ticks appear…

@Maelstrom16: i come from china, and i didn’t apply for FA, where do you come from?

superzhkch, ni hao ma?
:)

I am from India and I am applying for aid. So it’s gonna be very very difficult for me Congratulations to you What other schools did you apply to?

@justone: hey justone!

@maestrom16: i applied to 11… im still waiting for penn, brown and possibly (cornell)… the rest i dont care any more…

this makes me feel crappy.

I had a 2160 SAT, 3.8 High school gpa, did an essay, had 2 recommendations, 3.9 college gpa in the honors program at a top 50 university.

And I got rejected…within 3 weeks. really?! I made sure all my forms were in and still didn’t get in anywhere

and i didnt apply for financial aid…

@wneckkd99: lol, im sorry about that… i had 2 recommendations, but i wasn’t sure whether they are good or not, so i just sent to the schools that require recommendations

I think WashU rejected the over-qualified applicants because they think those people are more likely to be accepted by (and enroll to) other giants and it will drag their yield. Not so sure, tho

Wow!! Eleven schools, I couldn’t afford even this

I hope they don’t think I am overqualified I don’t even believe that I am qualified.

Ya ya, I got my acceptance letter the other week. Got decent financial aid, too. I’ll be enrolling as a sophomore this fall semester.

Anyone know how housing works for transfers? Do they just get whatever’s left over from the lottery? I requested a single but I’m kinda doubtful I’ll get it. Oh well.

Anyways, good luck to everyone still waiting on a reply, and I hope to see you guys next year 8)

P.S. – is anyone else planning on going to that orientation thing in June?

^care to share stats

@davidthegoose: the housing choices are in the package they sent us, but im gonna call my friends in washu anyway. i might just choose the cheapest S40 one…

im not going to the orientation in june…

The housing options in the package were just preferences, nothing about that is set in stone…I feel like they’re gonna give returning students dibs on all the good housing locations, so who knows.
