@Mimilove,
I’ll see you at UC Santa Cruz next year! :D

Well, congratz to everyone that got into UCSC! looks like we’ll all be seeing each other next year… too bad we wont know who anyone is! lol

I got the ambiguous/acceptance(?) messages from Irvine, SB, & SD. Accepted by SC. Rejected by Riverside & Davis. Davis is a bummer, was my first choice. ;( Time to apply regularly, I guess! :)

I actually disagree that UCSD’s written guideline is an indication that they’ve approved our TAG. Here’s why: they simply tell us to check it off so that they know to evaluate us under TAG once they begin evaluating all applications in January, regardless of TAG or no TAG. If it was true that they’d approved, there would almost definitely have been an inclusion of some expression of approval and/or the conveyance that it’s still only a “conditional” approval.

Edit: Oops, I take the above back. I just saw berkeleyphil’s post and then realized what he meant then saw the second “rejection” letter…wow I wasn’t expecting that from UCSD! (I was gone from the computer since now.)

@Oliver_Twist: but then why did ucsd send 2 different letters? we’re not ACCEPTED, but I think it at least means that we’re on a right track.

Big oops: I recant what I said, you’re totally right berkeleyphil!

yeah some people got a denial letter from ucsd for their TAG including my friend. so I guess they didn’t just send the letter without any meaning behind it.

@berkeleyphil: Is your friend also a user on this board? If not, can you ask him/her to post what the denial response reads? I just now did some analysis of the earlier screenshot and I think it’s a fake denial message. I made a new post about it…have a look if you’d like and add on to it

So I called the UCSD office…

They told me that they didn’t reject really anyone… They aren’t even really looking at the TAG forms. It is just telling you that you are have the requirements. If you got another letter like I did, it just means something in the automated system detected there might be something that makes you ineligible…BUT it doesn’t mean you are rejected.

BOTTOM LINE… regardless of what you got from UCSD TAG… STILL CHECK THE TAG AND IGETC CERTIFICATION BOX ON THE APPLICATION… that is the most important thing… they are using the REAL UC APPLICATION as a TAG form as well. they aren’t using the TAG AGREEMENT at all. We didnt even need to do the TAG form for UCSD… SO FOR THOSE who still want to do TAG for UCSD… you can still check the box on the application to qualify.

hope this helps !

like berkeleyphil said… the letter is just to tell you that you are on the right track…

Does it actually say TAG on the application next to the college name? I can only find the part where it gives you the option of checking off the colleges you want to apply to. Is this what checking the UC SAN DIEGO/ IGETC box means?

The tag check list is under “California Community College Transfer Admission Programs” which is right after you list your planned courses.

A couple sections later you will find IGETC, which is located under “Other Academic History - Additional Information”

look for:

Certified for completion of the Intersegmental General Transfer Curriculum (IGETC): Yes

its fun to read through this thread. most of you guys have moved on and forgot about us, ha.

looks like november 12th is when Davis decisions came out last year, and UCSB/UCI notifications came out on the 10th, but said that they would notify finally, of decisions between march and may.
