It looks like a wonderful experience combining science and mountaineering. However, one caution, when my D applied two years ago they got so many applications that they decided to select the participants via a lottery rather than by some set of selection criteria. The application requires essays and letters of recommendation, in my opinion that's a lot of work to end up in a luck of the draw type of selection. You might want to call up the contact given on the website to see what their current selection process is.

I know of three competitive programs for after sophomore year: Cornell's Nanobiotechnology Internships, NIH Internships and Texas Tech's Clarks Scholars.

I'm applying to summer@brown for a minicourse, too! :)

There's also Andover Summer Session and Exeter Summer School. They're not exactly selective, but all the kids I met were really smart. People do get rejected, though. I mean, not a lot of dumb kids would want to spend 5 weeks taking two, 2 hour classes everyday, with 3+ hours of homework each night.

I"m applying for Intro to Financial Markets.

But that's only cuz I can only stay for a week. Bummerr. Also look into the Cornell Summer Sessioin thingg. It says it's for Sophmores, Juniors and Seniors. I'm assuming it means incoming.
