The story is, I'm taking German 1. It's not for my major/minor or anything, I purely was just interested in taking it. I was really motivated in the beginning but my teacher seriously was just horrible. And now she even suggested that I change my grading basis to P/NP. But I looked online, and got a petition form, they said that this petition is rarely approved since it's already 10th week after the deadline (which was 6th week).

My question is, anyone know some way that'll let me successfully petition to change? On the form they said, poor performance, changing major, or illness are not legit reasons to change. Someone PLEASE HELP ME :(

i think your only option is to late-drop it. you can do this before your final, for $35, and you need to pick up a petition at murphy and have your prof sign it. you get 3 late-drops your whole time here (i've done one already).

So there's no way I can change the granding basis at this point? I really would like to try to refrain from late-dropping it, since doesn't it look horrible on my transcript? And German isn't even related to my major/minor.

bump bump. Anyone?

The petition form also ask to state specifically why I couldn'tve done it before the deadline. But I seriously was just too busy and missed the deadline. I know it's my fault, anyone help? :(

you either gotta go for it and see what happens, or stick with it.
if you late-drop, they don't ask you why you're dropping, you just need the prof's approval.
but it sounds like a really tough case for changing the basis.
just try it and see how it goes?
