I applied RD to Harvard. If you do know, are the AOs going over their first read of the applications? When do you think they’ll start committee? Do you think there’s a date by which I should send in updates for them to consider?
@hhjjlala: Regional Admissions Officers and regional committees are reading applications right now. Sometime in mid-to-late February, each regional committee will decide which of their applicants to bring before the full committee.
The full committee meetings in past years have started around March 1st and lasted until March 19th or March 20th. Then, the financial aid office must calculate a financial award award for accepted students who applied for financial aid (about 60% of admitted students), which takes about 10 days. Then acceptance letters are posted and thick envelopes mailed out.
If I had to pick a final date for applicants to send an update letter, I would recommend no later than March 1st.
