AP AB Calculus

just for a reminder, i'd wait until friday afternoon before discussing questions.. the whole wait 48 hours after the test for FRQ is getting more strict

i'm not discussing the FRQs just some random decimals and numbers I got from my calculator. I never made any direct mentions to questions on the AP exam today. I think I may even be posting in the wrong forum.

Even if I were to discuss answers from today which I don't think I am, an AP grader gives no points for a problem for just throwing down the right ans with the wrong work or no work.

k, just making sure (a friend of mine got really screwed from discussing a day early... kinda stupid, though, the punishment)

but yeah, those numbers are familiar

Does AP has error carrying through like the IB tests?

AND OMG ONLY 20% OF ABers GET 5/5!!! HOLY CRAP!!!!!! THAT'S NOT A LOT IN COMPARISON TO CHINESE (80%!!!!) AND BC (40%)!!!!

Aw, I just took a physics tests so those numbers wiped out my calc ones. No peace of mind for me.

^ That's actually a pretty high percentage for AP tests, isn't it?

'till you look at AP Chinese, which has like...90%+ getting 5's. :P

^ I'm not familiar with IB.

Thanks a TON dr owned! I was freaking out because I thought I miscalculated something for #1, but it turns out I did do the correct method. This makes me feel a lot better that I have a shot at a 9 on a question rather than a 4 or 5.

Hmm, 970 + 2 = 972 ...yay I can add 2 numbers together. 5 * 5 = 250 yay I can multiply. I am seriously not sure if these are the ans or miscellaneous scratch work for something else.

i recognize those too

overall I think i did alright on it, but a good feeling on tests usually don't mean anything for me lol.

I thought all the MC were pretty good, left 3 or4 blank on nc and 1 on the c, and two of the free response were hard for me but I still got parts of them

I pretty much share the general opinion: MC wasn't bad, FRQ was... At least it wasn't as bad as 2007's (I think I got a 9/9 only on the first problem). I know I messed up in one of the last FRQs. Possibly more than I thought.

i don't think so :S

I can almost guarantee that everyone who posts in this thread will at least get a 3, if not a 4 or 5.

lol

I remember that oil one, i ran out of time and was trying to work it out without my calculator at the end >.<

i think i pretty much wrote, in english, half of my answers for the free response. with like, one number thrown in there somewhere and no mathematical work, just explaining my logic. i hope that counts for something, because if not i am royally screwed!

well, i'm pretty sure i got 1A right. that's about all i'm sure of, haha.

Lol, kyrelle, that's exactly what I did! I like, practically wrote essays. The graders will take one look at my essay and be like, "What is this, a DBQ?"

1A ftw! It all went downhill from there.

Omg, I suck at calculus.

I wrote a couple good paragraphs too, lots of it in layman's terms, like "it goes up then down then back up so.." lol

Like, omg, I hope the graders don't mind all my awesome abbrevs!

I have no idea why talking about calculus turns me into a Valley Girl.

There were huge white spaces for #1 (the answers were all of one or two lines). Don't even get me started on the non calculator explanation. I literally had like 8 sentences of pure English for one part, just so CB couldn't say I didn't include something.

hahaha, for real! they'll have fun decoding ours, i'm sure.

i remember flipping through my book and going "wow, i thought this was calculus, not english lit. nice essays, kyra."

The MC was ridiculously easy. The FRQs were harder, but MUCH easier than I expected.
