Hello all! I am currently enrolled in AP Chemistry, which is notorious as my school for being THE most difficult class. I once dreamed of being a prominent figure in the medical field, feeling that because I am an intelligent person, I must make a lot of money; therefore, the only job I can do has to be something medical. I know, my logic is sketchy at best. Anywho, I hate this class. So much. I am a 4.0 student and am maintaining a low A in AP Chem. I do not know how, for I am always confused. I don't understand the concepts at all, and the material bores me to tears. Because I have come to terms that my true passion lies in the humanities, namely political science and history, I am debating a schedule change for the next semester. I would switch out of AP Chemistry and pick up AP Macroeconomics. Assuming that a withdrawal doesn't show up on my transcript, will this look unfavorable to admissions officers? Is this a bad move? Am I simply wimping out? Any and all advice is HIGHLY appreciated! :)

If you want to be a humanities person, colleges may not care much about AP Chem. If you are already maintaining an A in AP Chem, you could also stick with it and do better by hiring a tutor. May be your teacher is not teaching in a way you understand the material, this is where a tutor can make a difference. Chem is important if you want to go to medical field at a later date.

Thanks for the advice! :)
