ap art history or ap stat?

i don't have any arts yet, and i'm going to be a junior. technically, I can take ap art hist or ap stat in senior year... but what would look better for college. Also, i'm taking precalc over next summer (i'm not going to have a math this year unless I do ap stat).

recommendations?

Art History is for the cool kids.

…not that I took it or anything.

HAHA ^^

I took AP art history and my other 2 friends took AP stats. they said it was pretty easy however it depends because to one of my friends who is a straight A student got her only B from that class, but my other friend got an A. its not every math related however it is mostly explaining the problem and answer.
AP art history on the other hand is a boring course load however it gets very intersting at various points. i enjoyed the class, however i must admit i napped alot in the class and certain time periods where abnormal. but art is art. personally i am glad i took AP art history i had fun and learned alot about art and the artist
I think for a senior AP art history is a good class, it looks great on transcript and it is not so difficult and you can nap alot in the class :D

^^ i heard that stats teaches how to lie.

i myself would choose art history because it just seems like such a pain to actually have to learn something, instead of having an option to memorize.
lying just gets so hard sometimes. =/

You’ve not had any “arts” meaning no “fine arts” or just not a art class? Most high schools require you to have at least one credit in fine arts so make sure you have all your requirements before scheduling any other class.

If this is just to take an art class for the sake of not having one on your transcript, that’s another thing. What are you planning on majoring in in college? If the art history relates then fine, but if it doesn’t you’re wasting your time. If statistics relates then that’s your obvious choice.

Classes you take in your Junior and Senior years should in some way benefit what you want to study in college. It shows the adcoms you’re serious about the subject. That’s not to say you can’t throw in some fun classes for your own sanity and to show you’re well rounded.

If you know what you’re likely to major in, check out the required courses for your picks to see if stats or art hist is needed or not. If it is, then that’s what you should go with and try to get credit for it by clepping out or AP or SAT II.

IMO, I wouldn’t go a year without a math. Also, most stats classes are only one semester so make sure how long yours is.

AP Art Hist is the best class ever. For serious.

Do you like memorization? Because there’s a LOT more of that in AP Art History than there is in AP Stats.

I’ve always been told AP Stats is for the kids who like math… but they’re not super great at it.

So which do you like more… math or memorization? =)

I might add that if I was in your situation… I would choose AP Stats.
