Hey guys. I posted this in another topic, but I'm hoping I'll get better results in here... I was wondering how difficult it would be to take AP Bio and AP Environmental Science at the same time. "Difficult" meaning that it would be too much material, the topics would get confused, etc. Or is APES pretty laid-back? I'd be taking AP Bio in school and APES online. Thanks for the input! :D

Bump bump bump

Well.. okay:

A) AP Environmental Science is known to be really easy because few, simple topics are covered where you need to know definitions to make a good grade.

B) AP Biology covers enviromental science, even if a little bit, which is why AP Biology takers have the choice to take the SAT II Biology Ecology OR Molecular because both topics are covered.

So there will probably be no confusion, and both topics would go hand in hand. Plus a lot of people self study APES, and you're taking it online. I'd say go for it 100%

Thanks for your reply! :)

my school doesn't offer AP Bio, and i self-studied for the test while taking AP Environmental science. i think the material in each class complemented the other extremely well, and taking them together helped me pull off a 5 in both.

Bump... :)

You got some pretty good answers already; I don't think you need to bump it any more.

Umm...AP Environmental Science sounds easy, but it is very hard. Its not impossible, but I would not recommend taking that with AP Biology, both have lots of overloading work.

Hope that helps

Thank you! Oh, and I don't think having only 2 responses is up to par with mose other threads here. ;)

Sac89: The multi-page threads are usually about controversial topics, or spin off into a completely different discussions. No worries, though.

Yeah, that's true! Well, at least I got some good info... Thanks everybody.

You are welcome, and again AP Environmental Science is HARD!..lol

Well, I think I can manage. Most of the people I've talked to have said Bio and APES complement eachother, so hopefully I'll do okay. It's different for everyone... But I'll definitely be going into it knowing that I'll need to work my butt off. lol

lol..well do what you can..I took both of them and I know its a lot of work...but I am not you, maybe you can do it...good luck..I aced both of the classes, but it was hard work

Yeah, especially AP Bio. I'm not looking forward to that. But, hopefully the depth of my APES course won't be as much as it would be if it was in school since it'll be online... That's what I'm hoping anyway. lol :D

You know what..I am dumb..I didnt see where you said APES is online...if thats the case you will have no problem..I thought you were taking both at school...lol..sorry

That's OK... Yeah, we have a limited number of APs at my school, so the Internet is my savior, as always. lol

Sac89, I know I responded on the other thread, but I have my two cents as far as your specific situation:

I really don't see why you'd need to take the online course. As I mentioned, I took APES with AP chem, which probably helped a bit, but ... as far as AP Bio goes, I haven't taken it, and my biology knowledge is extremely, extremely limited. The APES test? I basically read a few prep books, took a few practice tests, made myself flashcards, and, despite the total lack of confidence, pulled a 5.

... Basically, unless you really feel the need, I say, trash the online course?

Yeah, I'm also considering that. So thank you! Wow... Good job on the exam. You guys make it sound so easy... I guess the flip side for me would be that I'm going to spend some time studying, etc., so I mine as well do a little extra and get it added to my GPA as an actual class. :) But yeah, I also see where you're coming from.
