AP Bio/ AP Chem? Nursing major

Classes registration for next year is starting soon at my school, and I can only choose to take either AP Bio or chem. As a nursing major, which class do you think would benefit me more? I’m also planning to take anatomy and physiology along with ap bio/chem.

I think you would be better off with both bo and chem and not A&P which seems to be more vocational and not rigorous. Assuming you are aiming at a BSN. If you are looking at 2 yr college, then it probably doesn’t matter.

I agree with the above post, unless you’re going into your junior year and you’ll be able to take the other AP class during senior year. If you have to choose one, I’d recommend chem to give you a head start in college chem classes. It’s not necessarily the easiest to understand for everyone, so it might give you an advantage to learn and relearn later on.

@pandaholic2 Actually, a lot of BSN programs don’t emphasize chemistry as much as biology majors in their curriculum.

I am a FNP and ACNP and I would say take chemistry. My BSN program required it but the a lot of ADN programs did not.
I would not waste my time with a&P in high school. If you have a better understanding of chemistry, it will make learning A&P, nutrition and mico easier.
