AP Bio before chemistry

Hello, next week I am meeting with my counselor for course selection for sophomore year and wanted to know if it is a good idea to take AP Bio and regular chemistry at the same time. At my school, the prerequisite for AP Bio is just taking Chemistry concurrently, but I just wanted to know how much of a Chemistry background is necessary for the class.

By the way, I googled if a Chemistry background is necessary and got very mixed results, so this is why I am asking you.

AP biology and chemistry there isn’t nay real connection

Both my kids took AP Bio before taking chemistry. The teachers spent the first 2 weeks for basic chemistry concepts, mainly chemical bonds. Strong reading skill is very important.

@NASA2014 and @coolweather lol it’s been a year. FYI I decided to take AP Physics because it was more relative to my major.
