I agree with aim78. Like in my class we spent a ton of time on genetics and the fly lab. A lot of stuff that cliffs just didn't cover in enough detail but that we were still tested over because it was in campbells :p

dont stress out too much guys. i got high 70s and mid 80s throughout last year in ap bio class (about an 83 average every quarter), and somehow was able to get a 5 on the exam. i was shocked too, believe me.

here's a tip: if ther's one topic that you just can't grasp (such as respiration), just skip all the multiple choice questions that relate to it. it worked for me. also, if you write the essays, yet feel that what you wrote might sound confusing (if you're comparing monocots and dicots fot example, or describing how the immune system responds to a pathogen), draw and label a diagram.

also, STUDY ALL DIAGRAMS FOR EVERYTHING. even if you dont know specifics, knowing general things about whatever process being described will help you so much!

So you guys are saying that cliffs and the princeton review might help with some things, but not all things? Uhhhhhhh!!! My question is: will they cover the majority of the stuff on the AP exam?
I ordered the princeton review, but now i think that i should go with cliffs or......my last option...... just read campbells.

The safest option is to buy both books and see what you find useful when spring rolls around..

Oh, just read the textbook. Haha, but you might want to get to get a review book (its rather difficult to study for the AP with a 1200 page textbook). I don't know why people like PR.I found a couple of mistakes in their practice tests. And the section on labs sucked. It didn't teach and explain how to do the labs, and that is precisely what the AP test asks for. They provide little explanation about any of the concepts from the labs. Study with Cliffs.

Btw, I got a 5. I read the book through the year, took the tests in the PR book, and read the chapters on diversity of life and some organ systems from Cliffs.

BTW, have fun with bio. I loved that class =)

i only had the cliffs review book and the regular textbook..i think it was campbells, and as i said before ^^ i did fine. but its different for different people. notecards definitely help you before tests, and if you organize them by chapter into a shoebox or something, you can study them for the AP.

is ecology a big part of the AP exam?
I'm dying right now in the biochemistry part of the text book.

Ecology isn't a big part. Molecular bio is like 25% I think. The greatset chunk - organismal - is 50%.

thanks!!!!!
