AP bio vs. AP chem

As senior year draws near, I have to make a choice between AP bio or chem. Currently, I want to pursue something environmental (or maybe engineering) in college and perhaps beyond. I know that biology is essential for environmental majors, but would it be best to leave it off for later in college where I could fully be immersed in the biological field rather than endlessly memorizing terms in high school?

My advisor recommended I take chem rather than bio instead because 1) the chem teacher is really good, 2) biology is always changing, so by the time I go to college, there would be new things I have to learn anyway and 3) it's easier to catch up in bio than chem.

what do you guys think? should I take bio or chem?

Personally I think AP Bio is pretty miserable while AP Chem is interesting.

Take chemistry. It’s really good to have the AP background before college since chemistry classes can be the weed-outs.

@alittlemonster, what do you mean by “weed-outs”?

Weed outs are classes where a large percentage of students are failed in order to reduce the number of science majors. So like for example, at most schools, 8954332164879652 incoming freshman want to be pre-med, but the school has only 60 or so slots in its pre-med program. So The introductory science classes are designed to sharply reduce the number of people in a certain track for a major.
