AP Bio vs AP Chem

I am undecided as to which one to take for my Junior year. From what I have heard, AP Bio is more factual and memorization, while AP Chem is primarily math.I dont really have more interest in one or the other.

I know this will vary from person to person, but which class should I take?
How is the workloud for each one?

edit; AP Environmental Science is also an option.

Take AP bio-
You don't wanna sit and memorize tons of informatin senior year lol

are you currently taking either a regular bio or regular chem class? Next year you may want to take the AP version of the class you are taking now.

I am currently taking regular chem and took regular bio freshman year.

crosscurrent; The one i decide not take wont be taken senior year.

I took AP Chemistry Junior Year, and I'm currently taking AP Biology Senior Year. I felt that AP Chemistry is more math and applications based, so you just need to understand concepts and be able to apply them in problem solving. AP Biology deals a lot with learning vocabulary and definitions, which takes a lot of work. Basically, to do well in AP Biology, all you need to do is read and memorize. If you don't, then the tests are very hard. Even though I feel like AP Biology is more work, I think the course itself is easier than AP Chemistry (I guess I'm better at memorizing stuff...). Hopefully this would help you decide. Personally, I would go with AP Chemistry (just my preference).

I recommend chem also.

chem is more logical based and applying the concepts you learned. for bio, it's simply knowing the concepts you learned

If you are good in math, take chem. If you are good in English and social study, take bio. ^_^

i say bio... but then it's always a personal preference.
i thought bio was more fun to learn:) than chem..

well, you can take bio and chem in one year, and environment in your senior year, since both bio and envi requires memorizing... >_<
I cant memorize anything so... chem is best for me, lol

I'm taking both this year. They're both great...If you are taking other APs, I wouldn't take AP Bio. You have to memorize A LOT of info and the chapters are long (at least in my textbook). You don't need to study for AP Chem as much. If you don't read the chapter for Bio...you're screwed. I'm taking 3 APs aside from Bio and I find it's hard to find time for Bio.

Thanks for all the input. I think I am going to be taking AP Chem because I am good at math, but mainly because my schedule and workload will not give me the time to memorize everything for AP BIO.

Yay!!!! you're the best TTI... Chem rocks! Trust me, lol

I had that same decision to make. I went with AP Bio (along with Honors Physics) because Biology is sooo much more interesting than Chem. I'm taking AP Chem and AP Physics senior year also, so the less memorizing then the better.

Go AP chemistry!!!!

I'm taking AP Bio and self studying AP Chem...

I can never take Bio, it's just too much merorizing for me!

AP Chem. at least for me, i think it's a freakin joke.

w/out studyin for ANY tests at all, i've gotten a 96, 98 first 2 9 weeks, 99 on the midterm, 95 3rd 9 weeks.

aka JOKE.

I think Chemistry means more in terms of difficulty and admission but it is significantly more difficult than Bio. However, I think Chem is probably better because it is math based and knowing how to solve the problems will take you a long way rather than having to memorize.

I'm in exactly the same situation--except it's for my sophomore year.

If you're thinking about Siemens Westinghouse and such, which would be better?
