AP Bio--yes this is high school life

Ok, I know I’ve posted about this a lot…
I’m a junior in AP Bio and 3 others(psych, chem, lit).

So my problem:
I have taken previous advice of watching Bozeman, CrashCourse, I’ve done practice questions that people have suggested, and I do study the textbook extensively. On quizzes that are “fact-recall” aka (What is the importance of oxidative phosphorylation in cellular respiration?) mentally I know the significance really well. Thus, I do well on quizzes.

Come the MCQ that are similar to the new and improved AP Bio exam and…let’s just say it’s a disaster. I understand the experiments but I feel like I’m doing reading comprehension questions. I don’t want to come across as frustrated, but I feel like these experiment based questions have nothing to do with Campbell and Reece.

I just need advice…and please don’t say study more…give me specific suggestions.

Okay, I took the AP Bio exam last year and it’s more about the “big ideas” and applying what you know than about details and memorization. When you study, try to focus on more on the general themes and processes (and kind of understanding how they work vs. memorizing).

Also, many of my friends have echoed your statement about it being like reading comprehension. You’ll need to read quickly.

I think I understand processes. For instance, I can’t tell you all ten enzymes involved in glycolysis but I know that there are 10 steps for pyruvic acid (did I spell that right?).

I never struggle with time constraint…I feel like my reading speed isn’t the problem…at least since I never really go over the bell
