AP Biology or AP Physics B

Hey, I was wondering what class to take. Which class do you think is easier? Also, when I took regular Biology I got a 99 and 91, and when I took physics I got a 91 and low B. So I am kind of leaning towards AP Biology. What do you think? Thanks.

its an easy choice...even thought my bio grades (97,97) are the same as my honors physics grades (97,97)...i would pick AP Bio anyday not because it is easier (its much harder than physics B) but physics B is looked down upon as an Ap and isnt really valuable while even though AP Bio is hard its more respected and the AP exam has much more of a curve....

Wait are you talking about bio being harder as the class or the exam. Also, physics has much more math involved, right?

It depends on the person, but to me Bio is EASY in comparison to Physics. Seems like Bio is better for you.

Biology is much easier than Physics B.

Bio is pure mem; if you know the info, you'll get a 5. Phys requires a bit more logic/analysis.

bio the class is harder than physics B to most people (to me they're the same) but the AP exam for bio has a bigger curve giving u more chances to get a 5...im taking physics right now and i also have the choice to take AP Physics B or Ap Bio but im derfinetly choosing AP Bio

If you're going to take Physics, you should take C, not B. So take Bio, not Physics B. Physics C is just more respected than Physics B.

I hate to say it like this, but duh Physics C is more respected. Physics C requires Calculus...so it's going to be harder also. Some colleges give the same type of credit for Physics B and C, so it might be easier to take the B, which one will probably score higher on.

"Physics C is just more respected than Physics B."

That's like saying Calculus BC is more respected, that's a given. Take Bio though, again.

Bio is more fun!

I'll take physics over bio ANY day :)

Physics is a lot more interesting and challenging because there is a lot more than straight memorization.

glucose...yes, you and I both know that BC is more respectable than AB and C more respectable than B and such...but others don't. Some schools may only offer Physics B or only Calc AB or only AP Bio or whatever combination, so students taking them might not know how respected they are in comparison to other AP's. I'm just trying to help, sheesh. :p

AP Biology is harder han AP Physics B. AP Physics B is just doing math by formulas, and if you are in Precalculus then you shouldnt have a problem with AP Physics B. AP Biology is harder because it requires you to interpret the material you read. Whoever said AP biology is just memorizing is wrong, it is not just memorizing. you actually have to know how and why things do what. There aren't just formulas you can follow in that class. Its very much reading, and not only is it a lot of reading, it's a lot of reading about.....science!!(gasp) lol

I beg to differ. Physics B requires more understanding and interpreting of the material than just inserting formulas. It's true there are more equations in Physics, but I think that makes it harder.

well keep begging because you are wrong, but thanks for your input

Well I guess we'll see when I take both APs.

I took AP bio last year. It really is pretty much just memorization. There some important concepts one has to understand, but the majority of the test of just recall of specific facts.

It's a really fun class though. I think you'd be better off taking it than Physics B. Physics is kind of pointless without calculus, in my opinion.

Why is Physics pointless with Cal?

Without Calculus, not with. You can do a lot more when you can use calculus and many equations make a lot more sense. With only algebra, you're pretty much limited to the cooked problems found in textbooks, but with the methods of calculus and enough work, you can apply physics to pretty much any relevant situation. If you're ever going to do anything significant with physics again, you'll probably have to take a calc-based class anyway.
