I am currently a sophomore right now and I plan on taking AP Calc BC, AP Bio, and AP USH next year. As of now, I have been recommended to take Calc BC and Bio, but I'm unsure about whether or not I should take US. Here's what I think about each course:

AP Calculus BC: All concepts from AB plus additional concepts
AP Biology: Applications of what I know and lots of memorization
AP US History: Lots of memorization and essay writing

So what can I actually expect from these courses? How much work is there and how difficult are the courses? How interesting are the topics in the courses?

Please keep in mind that I have a strong math background and a strong memorization skill. However, how well I memorize will depend on how interested I am in the course.

Sophomore here, AP US History is considered a really easy class at my school because of the teacher and his tests, same thing for the actual AP Test, my brother didn’t study much and he got a 4. It depends on your school though, I’ve heard some school really work people in AP US. AP Bio is the same thing, really easy class at my school, just notes and really easy tests. You will need a good amount of memorization. The AP test I heard is a lot harder, kinda. Tons of people are getting 3’s since the test change but it’s pretty hard to get a 5. When my older brother took it he knew some pretty smart people who got 1’s. Depends whether you can get good with concepts. From what I hear both Biology and USH are pretty boring classes unless you have a real interest in either. I can’t give a lot of info about other stuff, mostly telling you what people have told me.

I am in AP Biology and my second year of APUSH as a junior.

AP US History-Tons of memorization and good writing skills are the keys to success in this course. At my school, it’s a ton of work but it’s very interesting and has made me a much better student. I totally recommend it.

AP Biology-If you don’t like science, this course will be horrible haha. It, too, is a lot of memorization and my tests tend to have a lot of tricky questions. I recommend a Barron’s or Cliff’s Review Book for this course. I love biology and love the class, but it takes a lot of studying and reviewing for me to pull off an A. I also recommend it, but do not assume it’s an “easy” AP, because it’s not.
