AP Calculus AB 2013 Thread

Fish do you remember if the answer you put had an asymptote or nnot?

What was the piano question?

@kiwisarecool: No, I don’t think it did.

Hallelujuah, praise the lord, sweet babeh jesus!

OH, the one about music ability level as some girl was learning to play an instrument? I think I did the one that was like .8(M-P).
It made sense. Maybe because I was doing it wrong. xD

i put that too. a lot of people put M-.8P though

The music one asked for the difference between the two variables.

I put .8(M-P) too.
It said the rate was proportional to the difference between the two so I figure if you distribute .8 to only one of the variables it wouldn’t work out…

dy/dt = ky

k=.8=rate
y=(M-P)

Problem stated that rate was positive…performance level was increasing. M (maximum) is presumably higher than P (current), so y=M-P. The other way around would produce a negative rate, which contradicts information given in the problem.

How does the scoring work? like how much

It varies from year to year based on the difficulty of the test and the distribution of the normal bell curve of percentage correct, but it usually isn’t difficult to score well on the AP Calc AB exam.

I have 6 wrong on MC as of now …

Just google up past exam scoring scales. Usually a 5 can range from about 66+.

Hmm okay I might be able to scrape a 5 then

what did everyone get for the second frq with calculator that gave teh velocity and said what is the speed at 2 and what did you guys get for parts a-d

omg i failed the frq so bad
all my ap tests are going terribly

Yeah, you can basically get an overall D or C on the exam and still get a 5.

I’m not sure… I don’t really remember what I got for that one. I think I used the calculator and got 3.3 or 3.4 or something for one of the times that the velocity was 0. I don’t remember what part it was for though. I don’t think I finished finding the equation for position.

Because it was speed, you had to solve for t when 2=v(t) and when -2=v(t)

I got 3.2 seconds and 3.4 seconds, give or take ±0.2 seconds.

I got v=2 when t=3.127, and t=3.47
