Yes, the curve is very generous. I’ve already experimented with the appass calculator - a 5 is only 70ish out of 108!
@mundanewarrior, that wouldn’t be solved with an equation solver. You have to graph the f’(x) equation, then calculate the zeros to find critical values. Then, see (just by looking at the graph) between what zeros the graph is negative, and that gives you your intervals. You’ll definitely need to know how to graph (and interpret those graphs using zeros and extrema) on your graphing calculator.
I’m pretty sure I am about to get raped by the AP Calculus exam. But no worries.
@Mathophile26 Okay, that’s what I was missing. Thanks.
@Tobster18 Well, the curve is generous, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯
6 days!
Do you guy’s teachers give full class lectures for test prep (supplemented with AP material obviously)?
Our teacher has been out for the past month because her dad is having health issues…so as far as I know I’m not passing the ap exam
Our teacher finished the curriculum back in February, and we’re been reviewing and synthesizing content ever since. Almost everything we do is from either structured review sheets or straight-up past AP questions. I’m hoping to pass with a 5 (could be 4), and my teacher expects at least 9 out of the 20 to pass with a 3+.
For the past month, my class has been reviewing. We’ve worked out a lot of the Free Response questions and gone over how the point system works and everything. We took 2008 multiple choice and then we’ve been working through 2016’s multiple choice. I am feeling pretty confident
When do we expect the scores coming out please after we take the test next week?
@tintinhope early july
I want to take this exam already
Wow I didn’t even know 2012 multiple choice was released. I worked through it and got a 40/45 which is a 3 even if I got all the free response wrong. I’m feeling very confident. On 2008 I got 41/45 (but I guessed very well on that one).
Hey my school is doing late testing and we are using a hand-me-down Barron’s that is like from 2008. Do you know which review book is the best?
Does anyone know if the shell method is on the test? My teacher never taught it but it’s in PR so I’m not sure if it’s worth learning it now…
@otrastudying, the shell method does come up.
Good Luck to all taking the test tomorrow. May you all score 5s. My D has the Calc AB test and Spanish Lit AP on the same day–but then she is done with high school.
@IrrationalPepsi thank you!!
I honestly am quite nervous for this test… my class has been reviewing for over a month now and I have gotten at least 4s on all the practices but I have not been preparing for this test in the slightest. I’m so worried I am gonna bomb it. RIP. But just two more (this and Lang)! Everyone hang in there. We are so close.
