hmm.. lemme try doing it right now since i'm at home.

Oh gosh. I'm dead. I'm definitely getting a late second waver of score anxiety. And I'm gone all summer, so I won't see my report until August 3rd...

But I'll have my mom open it and read it over the phone or something....

With my luck the international reception will cut out right as she says "5"
(or 4 or 3 or 2 or 1..., but I can hope...)

lol, MelloMike. I'm trying not to psych myself out. After all, it was only a test. I will have many more in my life that will be just as big and even bigger than this one. I'm also thinking I could CLEP the exam if I fail to get a 4 or 5.

And seeing that we (CC users) are some of the smartest students in the US.. and we found this test to be quite difficult... Imagine what others thought of it. I think the curve will be fairly "nice." lol

it said on wikipedia that a 5 is generally a 66-70 out of 108, and on another entry it said a 5 is typically a 75. which is is??? and what do u think itll be this year? im hoping like a low 60's say like a 62-64

wait, i'm just wondering, does collegeboard actually check this forum?

seriously...i felt so confident about this exam... i thought this would be my best exam of the 3, but then i walk out and im just ****ed. now i'm really upset because i feel horrible. i know everyone else did bad, but i mean i can honestly say i answered one part on number 3 because i ran out of time and when i went back i ran out of time again.
number 6, i was able to do part A very quickly but couldn't describe b or c. 5 i thought i did OK on, 4, i don't think i got the right answer for B, because my value was some long fraction and everyone else said they got a number. assuming those results i expect like 6/36 on the non calc section, and about 20/36 on the calc section.... for a 26/54.... it just sucks really bad because i actually reviewed. now i'm worried that the college board just went crazy this year and all my exams are gonna suck and i'm gonna fail. i was hoping for at least a 5,5,4 on my exams, but am now realizing it might be 5,4,3/2-calc. its just super frustrating and i know i could have done better i just cracked when it took me so long just to try and understand the problems.... sorry for the long complaint... it just sucks and i'm really depressed right now.

For the 2003, it was 64/108 and for 2005 it was 63/108. So If this trend continues, it might be 62/108 for this year (2007).

I would love that curve, yatta!

And I think it will be even lower this year... maybe even high 50's

does collegeboard check the forums to find cheaters or whatever?

Thank You, I was going crazy. During the test it slowly hit me, that this was not going as I planned. Then after the test it snuck up on me and about 30 minutes to an hour after I was practically hysterical. You guys have given me confidence that I might not have performed as poorly as I thought. Since, I didn't have the AP class, & learned Calc throught independent study. I combined with the my school's AP review sessions since we have a semester system, so since their wasn't enough time for the teachers to throughly teach everything by May 9th they had reviews everyday after school starting in late April, to cover all the topics. That totally saved me, but I'm not sure if it was enough. This is alot like last year where I independently studied/kind of online studied AP Government & Politics and was saved by my school's review session. Like last year I waited till the last month the majority of the material. It was so stressful trying to learn everything these past couple weeks, basically majority of spare moments were spent on Calc. But unlike last year I thought the AP Gov't test went well.
I also took the AP Stats exam last year and this feels alot like that. Everyone was literally groaning. It was one of the worst things in my life, because in my school's semester system anyone who has a 2nd semester AP class is at a disadvantage. So we didn't learn Chi-squares until the friday before the exam which was on Tuesday and if any of you recall the main question was on Chi^2. I & many of my classmates wanted to cry.

I was really upset early on in the test because I left 10 blank for the first part of the non-calc multiple choice. I was really upset, but it was better than guessing. I needed more time.
For the Calc MC I only left one blank & sorta guessed on one which I probably got wrong. The related rate prob.

On the FRQ I was hit hard too, harder.
I unlike some of you thought the non-calc FRQ was much better than Part A.
I left question 3 basically blank because one I was running out of time & two my TI-89 was giving me symbols I had never seen before while I was trying to solve for zeroes & some integrals. I so wanted to cry.
Does anyone know what a weird swirly, sort of like a at symbol for e-mail, on a Ti-89 means.
I kind of still want to cry.

So I have no idea what my score will be, I am betting anywhere from a 3 to a "hopeful" 5. I know I'll only get a 5 with a great curve. Hopefully if CC people are above average people for Calc the curve will be even better.

yatta -

are u talking about for a 5 ?
what are your sources for that?

pgtori, it means you need to hit diamond and enter ;) Those are freaky exact answers that are pretty much useless for us. If you do the decimal answer (diamond-enter) it usually tells you the easy answer you're looking for and then has an "and -freaky answer with @-" thing. (I'm surprised you've never had those before o.O I started getting them very early in the year--pretty much I think they appear when you try to solve trig stuff for zero or ln stuff I forget)

yeah...
yatta's numbers are too good to be true

does anyone have sources where it tells you what the cut-off score was for each year?

whew...
come what may, at least the test is over and done with

What is the approximate cutoff for a 4?

I thought the FR section was hard but doable, way too math team type for an AP Calc AB tho.

What do you mean "math team type"?

yatta where did u get those numbers?? a 63 for a 5 or a 4?
