AP Calculus Question

My Daughter just completed her AP Calc B/C test. To the receive the credits she needs to complete the math required for her major, Exercise Physiology, she needs a 3 in Calc A/B. If she receives a 3 or better in B/C they give credit for Calc 1 and 2. Question. Do they subscore for Calc A/B when a student takes takes the B/C test and will that typically count towards credit (I imagine she’d have to ask the school about that)?

I found my own answer to the question. Here it is.

I believe schools do typically sub-score the BC exam, but this all depends on school policy. What is the school? The policy should be easily found online.

It would be a highly unusual college or department if it did not allow a score of 3+ on BC to fulfill a requirement that can be fulfilled with a 3+ on AB, since BC is a superset of AB.

It’s Ohio University. They offer Calc 1 for A/B and Calc 1 and 2 for B/C. I’ll check with them to see if on the off chance she were to get a 2 on her overall B/C test but a 3 on her A/B subscore how they would handle that. According to College Board they encourage them to handle it just like they would a 3 on the A/B test.

https://www.ohio.edu/admissions/transcredits/upload/APcredit_Semesters.pdf seems to be silent on how the AB subscore of the BC exam is treated. Seems like you want to ask directly.
