This year I'm taking AP chem, so I want to prepare for both the AP test and the SAT II. Do I have to get completely different sets of book/s for each one, or is there a lot of overlap? I was going to get Barron's for the SAT II... should I also get Barron's for AP chem? Any advice?

I went with both Barron's and Princeton for AP Chem, and then reviewed with Barron's for the SAT II. Did really well. :)

Cool, thanks. Any more input?

Well the MC on the AP test is practically the same thing as the SAT II [with the exception of the T/F questions] but other than that I would say that any AP prep book [personally like PR] would be enough to cover both, and you could just substitute that one part [the T/F] with the sparknotes, but other than that I found that this really worked out, and I had to self study both so yeah...

PR AP, Barron's SATII

All right... I'll probably get Barron's for the subject test and PR for the AP :)

I went with Cliff's for both (originally for AP) in terms of content. That proved more than enough for me.

Of course, to become familiar with the SAT II format, I still peeked looked at a Barron's and a Princeton Review... both dating from 1997. -_-

Apparently nothing changed in those 9 years.

I used Barron's and the Sparknotes Power Pack for AP and Sparknotes for SAT 2
