AP Chem or AP Env. Science?

Filling out my schedule for next year and can’t decide for my science.
This was my schedule this year:
Honors Spanish 2
Honors English 2
AP US History
Honors Chemistry
Religion Class (Required)
Sports Medicine/Ceramics
Honors Geometry
I got/am getting all As (same for my freshman year) and haven’t had too much difficulty, except for APUSH and to a lesser extent Honors Chem.
Next Year Schedule:
AP English Language
Honors Spanish 3
Religion Class (Required)
Honors Algebra 2
AP Psychology
AP Chemistry or AP Environmental Science
AP US Govt/Econ.
I definitely want to take AP Biology senior year when I will have time for all that reading, but which would be better for me.
I am pretty sure I want to be a business major.
And, if it’s relevant, I have relatively enjoyed both Honors Biology (freshman) and especially Honors Chemistry, but the latter has been somewhat more challenging, though through less work. I am also not very big into math, despite grades over 98, as I did not know that there was a math placement exam for eighth graders before high school, which resulted in me being placed in Honors Algebra 1, rather than Hon. Algebra 2, as a freshman, despite having already taken it and Geometry in middle school. Would AP Chem still be doable?

Hello, I am a current junior taking AP Chemistry.

Overall just to summarize my experience this year, I would say it’s a total alteration from the chemistry you’re currently taking (Honors Chem) and AP Chem. When I took Honors Chem we mostly did calculations and introduction to how to calculate molarity, moles, heat, etc… Moving onto AP this year, I really thought it was the same thing except harder and more calculations, but I find myself writing more words (like english writing) and explaining how I got this answer and if this _____ will do ______ this or not. More in depth you do learn more about equations and formulas and little bit of organic chemistry and how to apply chemistry to daily life a little.

(I hope that make sense. Every school and teacher is different, so keep that in mind)

Overall, my advise is, if you love chemical reactions and molecules and doing numbers AND Writing then sure AP Chemistry is doable, but if you really love the earth and how plate tectonics work then AP Environ. is doable as well.

Talk to your teachers/counselors/friends on what their advise is and how the class is structured (Every school, class, and teacher is different^^).

Best of luck!

Have you taken Physics yet? if not, take that.

AP Environmental Science is a JOKE. I’m sorry. But it is – the class itself is easy, yet the exam is often one of the least passed.

You have AP English Language, which is obviously a lot of reading. AP Psychology and AP Government are a lot of memorization and connecting things. AP Chemistry is a lot of math. But you wouldn’t be overloaded in any one area – I’ve found if you’re overloaded with math, or reading, or writing, or memorization that it can be very tough.

I feel AP Chemistry looks far better and will help you with pretty much any major far better
