Junior Year Schedule

So, I have a few questions regarding my junior year schedule. I'll type that out and then lay out my options so that you understand them better.

AP Environmental Science or AP Chemistry
Jazz Ensemble
AP English Language and Composition
Honors Pre-Calculus
AP Psychology
Honors Spanish IV
AP US History

So, I'm not sure about what kind of science I would like to take next year. Generally, I enjoy science, but I'm not so into chemistry. Because of this I'd rather take AP Environmental Science than AP Chemistry. However, I don't want to do something that would look bad to colleges just because I don't exactly like a particular subject. Below are my options. Which one do you think would be best?

Option 1: Take AP Environmental Science as a course during the school year and test out of Chemistry this summer so that I have some chemistry on my transcript.

Option 2: Take AP Environmental Science as a course during the school year and take Honors Chemistry online this summer or next summer so that I have some Chemistry on my transcript.

Option 3: Take AP Environmental Science as a course during the school year and take AP Chemistry online this summer or next summer so that I have some Chemistry on my transcript.

Option 4: Take AP Chemistry during the school year and forget AP Environmental Science.

So, which of these four options do you think is the best and why?

Thanks in advance! All responses are greatly appreciated! (:

…this has nothing to do with chancing, “Big Booty Judy”…

I’m fully aware. This thread doesn’t exactly fit into any of the forums, so I just put it here. I’ve established that before in other threads that I’ve made in this forum, but no one has ever been rude enough to mention my threads’ misplacement (other than you, of course), so I stopped explaining myself. I guess I’ll have to start doing that again…

Most of these forums seem inappropriate for this thread, so I’m just going to place it here because this is where I typically post my threads. I hope that no one is bothered by this. Thanks for your understanding.

Okay, sorry for being a b-tch. Anyways, unless you have a huge thing for Enviro Science and really dislike Chem, take Chem. Enviro is kind of the “easy” AP class, and Chem has a lot of respect. Your other classes look difficult but not overwhelmingly so (three AP classes rather than taking AP Spanish and AP Calc on top of your others). If there are parts of your application that show great interest in the environment, however, I’d take that.

So the general verdict goes AP Chem.

Perhaps you could help me too despite my initial rudeness?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1301595-ty-ish-act-score-good-ecs-cornell-rd.html

Definitely the 4th option. Its possible to self-study AP environmental science, which im doing right now…so I would recommend doing that.

No, yaintime21, I was also rude. I was in a bad mood and shouldn’t have gone that far with it. I apologize.

No, I don’t really have a huge thing for environmental science. I just thought that it would be easier than taking AP Chemistry. This year I took AP Biology and I’ve barely managed an A in that class. I plan on becoming an attorney, so science will not exactly be important to my future. Going this extensive into it wasn’t something that I really think would be necessary. However, to stay competitive I need to at least take AP science each year.

Well, jaguar2468, I don’t have too much time to do it. I’m sure you deal with the same problem, but between maintaining good grades, friends, extracurriculars, etc. I don’t have enough time to take both of those course next year, whether it be through self-studying, online, what have you. That’s why I suggested doing some form of chemistry during a summer and AP Environmental Science during the school year.

So, would taking AP Environmental Science during the school year rather than AP Chemistry be detrimental to my schedule? I could always say that I didn’t have room for AP Chemistry in my schedule, so I took AP Environmental Science during school and did AP/Honors Chemistry online so that I would’ve done some kind of Chemistry? Would this be bad?

And if I do the taking chemistry option, should I take AP online, Honors online, or simply test out of regular through my school system? I did the latter with biology last summer.

Also if the fact that I live in West Virginia (don’t make fun, it’s not my fault) and am doing a crazy amount of work compared to most of my peers would affect your decision, then please take that into consideration.

Also, the schools I’m aiming for are UVA, Duke, NYU, uPenn, Harvard, Yale, or Columbia, so…

I probably come off as fighting to take AP Environmental Science or something, but please just take what I’ve said now into consideration and then tell me what you think is best.

Thanks a bunch!
