ten including me.. im the only soph 2

17 here. There were supposedly more last year but I'm a sophomore so I don't know all about everything that went on last year since I was just trying to figure high school out.

go find some people that want to do AP Chem

We have 12, but it is only offered every other year so there is enough people.

We have the same problem as OP, only around 6-8 kids in the AP Chem class, and I'm hoping to take it senior year.

Last year there were 11 kids in the class (1 passed the exam with a 3)
This year there are 8 kids in the class.

Next year, I think the number will go down again.

It turns out my school didn’t make the class, so I’m taking it online. Therefore, I am now the only person in the school taking AP chem. It’s not too bad, though. Now I can go as fast as I want to, and am currently about 1.5 weeks ahead of my class.

Last school year, there were 2 students in AP Chem.
This year there are 3.

Next year, I think there will be 13 (including me :P)

Hmm, a lot of people take it. And plenty of average-ish students do it. The teacher is really well-liked, so people want to take it. 40-50 people/year and people take it in both junior and senior years, so maybe 60 people per class or so.

I’m singed up for it next year. Out of a school with 2100 kids, only 20-25 take it a year.

Wish me luck…

66 people, split into three periods

I think 10-20 students are taking it right now at my school. I’m taking it next year and was wondering how the work is though? I’m in CP Chem right now and my teacher for CP is the same as the AP Chem. He said that we go through all of CP Chem in the first 4 weeks of AP and then it just goes on from there.

Even though this thread is a year old, there are like 15 AP Chem students this year all in the same class

There are 17 kids in my class and there are four classes of about that size.
So maybe 70ish kids.

Our Chem teacher is amazing so there’s always a chem class. A lot of people sign up for AP Chem because they loved him so much in HOnors Chem that they didn’t care about how hard it was going to be.

Next year seems like a slacker year though…a lot of people are dropping AP Chem because they want to “take it easy” senior year :(

There will definitely be a AP Chem class though.

I’m not in AP Chem but will be next year. There are 2 classes this year; I think there was like 20 in in both classes if my teacher told me correctly. There will probably be a drop of students in it next year because one of the teachers, my honors chem teacher, who is also one of the AP teachers is pregnant and won’t be teacher AP since she will be out for the beginning of the year and a lot of students wanted her for AP.

last year when i took it, there were about 10 kids in the class.

this year i think there is like 14.

6 students lmao. Would be around 15 if so many people didn’t drop it. I wish everyone stayed in the class…

3 or 4 last year.
This year, we had 7 at first… 1 dropped and took an E for the year.
We now have 6, including me :(

The AP Chem teacher said right now it says there’s 38 enrolled, but a lot of kids dropped, or he had to kick them out because they were failing, so now there’s about 14
