***AP Chemistry (2016-2017)***

I thought the FRQ’s were harder too, but not impossible.

@thestudent248 I thought last year’s FRQ was extremely easy compared to this years and the MC was borderline difficult

The test was difficult but not impossible. Here’s to hoping for a high curve and that we all missed mostly field questions.

What are field questions? do you mean conceptual questions?

They have 10 dummy questions in MCQ which is not marked

Oh I heard about those, if you get them right do you get bonus?

No.

Any curve predictions?

I hear that a lot of people are saying mc was easy and frq’s were hard(not what I thought), but that’s similar to how people thought in 2015 for that year’s AP chem test, so I’d expect the curve to be similar to 2015.

So about 72 for a 5, and 38 for a pass

Based on what I’ve heard about other forms, I really wish I hadn’t had form O

Is it possible to leave a subsection or 2 of the FRQs blank and still get a 5?

I had the same experience. From what I’ve heard, students who had form O had a lot of difficulties with FRQ, and those with forms E and Q had an easier time.

@Carwood , which form did you have?

For the MC I wouldn’t say it was easy but it was quite average. On the mock exams I usually had time to finish all 60 and have time to check maybe the first 15 but today when the coordinator called “10 MINUTES” I was on #48

I put “B” for the last 6 without even double checking any of my previous answers but during break the coordinator called for those people who did not finish and put random answers at the end (me). She told us that those questions will NOT be graded (we won’t get penalized) and that our MC scores will be based on what we’ve completed. Apparently our tests would be put aside for the AP Readers to examine and it would be obvious which questions they would take out. Did this happen to anyone else?

I ended up finishing the MC around 20 minutes early, which wasn’t the greatest move. I always work way too fast through MC and that reduces my quality of work, and by the time I “check” answers, my mind has been predetermined. For, FRQ, on the other hand, I have the opposite problem

@Orcmeister What do you mean, they won’t be graded? Why not leave the entire test blank, then? Is it a loophole or something?

yeah if u guessed the last few vs if you left them blank, wouldnt people that guessed be at a greater disadvantage?

In that case, might as well just answer one question you know for sure and leave the rest blank

I thought it was incredibly easy… I think I actually have a shot at getting a 100%. In class we did a few past year FRQs and released-to-teachers-only FRQs, and all the FRQs were pretty much covered. I was only unsure on 1 multiple choice.

I see a lot of other people say it was hard, so hopefully a 5 should be easy w/ the curve

That’s so awesome!! Just out of curiosity, which form did you have? @Yamcha123
