Ap chemistry post test discussion [2011]

Yeah I think I did pretty decent on the MC. Man was that FR a complete B*TCH though…

I did super well on the Multiple Choice, but the FRQs. Honestly just what the h*ll.

I actually think I did okay on the FR, but horrible on the MC. I had a really sucky teacher though. I was desperate for a 5 going in, but now I’m just hoping for a 4 >.<

I think there will be a pretty shexy curve for the FRQs…Or maybe the Multiple Choice…Or maybe both…

@frenchhornlove If you think you had a bad teacher - I took an online course, and the teacher did NOTHING, I basically had to self study everything.

I’m not sure what everyone thought was so hard about the 2nd FRQ, I honestly thought that was the easiest one. The last FRQ was the hardest for me, definitely. Instead of wasting time on figuring out the rate law, I just chose one, and did all of the calculations so I’d at least get points if my calcs were consistent, you know? Kind of felt short on time at points.

Do you guys/gals think the curve will be fairly generous this year?

@xxmeasurelovexx I think most people were complaining about Part A. Questions 1 & 2 were very difficult.

@coberator02,
Yes, most definitely…I’ve been looking at previous years, and these FRQs were way way way harder.

Right. That’s what I’m referring to. Other than the last parts of Question 1 on Part A, and the last parts of Question 3 on Part A, Part A was totally do-able.

@ChrxswxN Yeah, I agree… This was definitely harder
Here are old FRQs, take a look: [AP Central - The AP Chemistry Exam](<a href=“Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board”>Supporting Students from Day One to Exam Day – AP Central | College Board)

^ I used these for practice.

Agreed. I was able to essentially “ace” the 09’ 10’ FR questions and these just seemed exponentially harder. Maybe it was just me though.

I got 5’s on my practice tests. My teacher has had a 100% pass rate for the past like 6 years with 20/30 people getting 5’s last year. We all thought that test was horrible. I really hope for a generous curve.

Based on the MC I got a 5. Based on the FRQs I got a 2  lol

Objectively, the MC was easier than normal (or perhaps average) and the FRQ was a lot harder than before. There was a lot of practical knowledge you needed to have to do well on the FRQ instead of just doing previous theoretical problems.
After reviewing, I think I missed ~5 on multiple choice and 2 parts of the free response: last part of question 1 and 1 part of question 4 (one of the reactions) and perhaps some points here and there for significant figures. Hopefully a 5 but I guess we will have to wait until July to find out

I am screwed because normally i pull low 50’s on the mc but own the free response. I think I still got low 50’s mc but idk about free response…

Yeah same here on the FR ender94. I think I did fairly well on the MC, but the FR seemed unusually difficult. I reviewed with 05’-10’ released FR and Barrons, which is supposed to have harder questions than the actual test, and, still, this FR seemed way harder than in the past. Especially the first part of A in the FR section.

I didn’t even have time to finish the FR…spent way too much time on the first problem and missed easier parts later on. Wow, that was hard :(

Hey Kevin ;)

Holy Jesus ****
That test was mind-blowingly difficult.

It’ll be a miracle if I pass. Those FRQs especially were like, WHAT???
