AP Chemistry vs. AP Latin Vergil for schedule

I really need help deciding what to take next year. Currently my schedule is as follows:
AP Physics B
AP Calc AB
AP Lit
AP Eco/AP Gov't
Orchestra
internship class w/ surgeon

now i can't decide between AP Chem or AP Latin Vergil (Latin IV). I don't know whether chem added will kill me next year or four years of a language is better.

I say AP Latin Vergil since you already have a science class for next year’s schedule.

Wait, you’re worried about Chem killing you and you’re considering taking Latin?
I suppose this could vary from school to school, but I’m almost certain that Latin will require more work. AP Vergil’s curriculum is about 1800 lines; for my class that equates to around 30 lines of translation and discussion a day in class (it’s recommended that we translate 40-50 lines a night, just to be safe. This is 50 Aeneid lines. The Aeneid is tough, Vergil was did not hold back on the fancy hard-to-translate grammar constructions and about half the words in each line are implied. Okay, that’s exaggeration). And close-reading essays on top of that, plus each test is like 100-150 lines that you have to be able to give a literal translation for, and that just takes forever to study. Unless you’re a Latin whiz, that is more work than Chem will be.
I took both AP Chem and AP Latin Literature (easier than Virgil in my opinion), concentrated all my studying efforts on Latin, and got a 5 on Chem and a 4 on Latin. If that puts things into perspective any.

Also, judging from your internship, it seems like you might be looking at a medicine-related major/career? Chem would be indescribably useful for that.

haha i second what CanaryK said as you will spend MUCH more time each night on latin than on chem
