I got a 5 on the AP chem exam... what class does that waive? (admitted to letters & science, thinking of chemistry b.a. or a major in biology)
someone told me it counts for chem 1A? if i skipped this class and went on to other chem classes, like o-chem or something, would it be more difficult?

in general, is it wise to use AP scores for credits? because it seems that it would be even worse if you take a harder class and don't have the same level of preparation as other students who DID take the class at berkeley.

if ur premed, dont do it-med schools want these classes done at university. if ur thinking chem of any sort as a major i dont think it would be advised because 4a is way more intense than 1a from what i hear from my peers (i mean, i took ap chem (4) and chem 1a (A-) and i thought that chem 1a went into way more detail than ap simply because of the MO’s and hybridization which we didnt learn in HS. so imagine it would put you at a disadvantage for the 112 series…so ap chem probably doesnt equal 4a in rigor

dont waive it, the chemistry at berkeley is on a completely different level than AP. if you waive, you would be ill prepared for further classes i.e. upperdivs
