AP Chemistry.

Is AP Chemistry a difficult class? Apparently, it is the hardest class at my school, according to current student taking it. I feel like those people are over exaggerating. What is your opinion? This is the teacher's first time teaching AP chem, if that says anything.

I’m also taking AP Chemistry next year and I hear that the difficulty varies from school to school. Chemistry is class that takes time. It’s a class that forces you to think outside the box. You either understand it or you don’t. But you can master it unless you work at it. Yes, AP Chemistry is a challenging class but it’s completely doable.

im taking ap chem next year as well. does anyone know if it has more homework than ap euro?

In my opinion, if you understood chemistry beforehand then you’ll be fine. It’s gonna be a little bit more challenging, but it’s just a simple understanding of basically math in my perspective  and yeah, it depends from school to school but considering it’s also the teacher’s first time teaching you it might be a little crazy cause they’re going to see how they should go about teaching the curriculum leading up to the test in May. good luck! :)

No one can answer this for you with a real response. It really does matter depending on your school or teacher. My AP chemistry class that I’m in know is only 4 1/2 months long because my school is on block schedule so I am expected to have memorized everything from honors and we are rushing into brand new topics without spending much time to learn them. Basically, my chemistry class is a nightmare and the highest grade on our past 2 tests was a 75, with the average being a high F.

That said, don’t be scared because that is my school with my unorganized teacher. If the class is a year long, it is probably much easier.

Best thing (and the only thing) you can do is go to the AP Chemistry teacher in your school and ask. At most schools, you will have a nice amount of HW and have to spend a nice amount of time studying.
