Well I'm in a very limited school which offers 0 AP's and is strict on allowing me to take senior courses. To take AP Chemistry I need to take a more basic chemistry, if I take it in the upcoming year (my junior) I can only take AP Chemistry in my senior year.

Will it hurt me if I take AP Chem in senior rather than junior? (I want to go into engineering preferably mechanical.)

I don't think it will hurt you, because your school does not offer AP's. I don't think it'll be a problem if you take it senior year.

But can you possibly take regular chemistry in the summer to meet your prerequisite for AP chem in junior year?

You can always study for the AP exam yourself (and since you want to go into engineering maybe you can consider other science-math areas like Physics)

I'm taking Physics and Calculus aswell as Number theory at EGYP (sp?). I might also take another Harvard Extension course.

I can take summer school but I received an offer to do research at the microcellular plastics lab at mechanical engineering in University of Toronto to work with a visiting professor on expandable bead-formed polyethylene so I think it would be more beneficial to me.

Again I could take it in the summer but then I lost my research oppurtunity...

Whats more important, research oppurtunity 350+ hours I can enter into a science competition, + ill be refreshed for winter to take Number Theory at the stanford EPGY including starting self-study on calculus
