Right now I'm a freshman in high school and on winter break :D but after break we're signing up for classes next year already. Im really worried about the choices I'm gonna make and if its too much work for me.. Im thinking about taking AP Stats and AP Us history ( Apush ). a lot of my friends I'm crazy for wanting to do two ap classes in a year but i want to know how hard each subject is before i throw myself into something too hardcore. Any Suggestions on what i should take or the level of difficulty of each class?

Side Note
I usually get A's or occasionally an A- or B+ and my gpa so far is 4.00
Would having two ap classes be too much?

^^^^^
so far the only honors classes I’ve taken are Honors English 9 and Honors Geometry ; Next year my math teacher recommends i take Honors Advanced Algerbra and Stats ( Regular or AP )

To take AP Stats, you should have some working knowledge of Algebra 2. I don’t know whether you will be able to do it… But if you think that you will have a sufficient working knowledge of it, go for it

I’m currently taking APUSH and it takes a lot of time and is stressful on stress days. My class is a debate/discussion type class, so I absolutely love it. Also, make sure you want to learn about american history first.

My school system was quite weird where they had Honors Intermediate Algerbra which was like half of algebra 2 and Advanced Algebra is the other half of Algebra 2 but they’re making us take Advanced Algebra before we take stats. And history is one of the easiest subjects for me so its kinda fun Ty for the advice

There are people in my class whom history comes easy to but struggle so much. Its not because they don’t know the material, but because of the FRQ and DBQ that we get for tests. Learning the material is the easy part, applying it to the question is the more difficult part.

I’m pretty sure you need to know Advanced Algebra 2 to be able to succeed in AP Stats. I don’t know what your schedule set up would like

sorry for all of the stupid questions are FRQ and DBQ like free response questions/short answer?

My school’s math system was weird because they had us do one thing, and we skipped levels of math and now we’re coming back to it so I’m not sure but I’m pretty sure i would take algebra before stats.

i’ve never taken APUSH (i’m a junior rn) but i took ap stat last year with ap gov and i found both classes were pretty easy. It depends on the teacher and the amount of work assigned, though, as well as the curves of the ap tests. I had a really awesome stat teacher who taught me everything on the test, but my gov teacher was kind of a joke (he had tenure so he just played the daily show and the colbert report every class). i still got 5s on both exams though. Stat kind of requires a good teacher and a lot of work put in; gov can easily be self-studied if you have a decent knowledge about the government and can memorize some key terms and definitions.

AP Stats definitely requires a good teacher. There are a ton of questions where there’s no direct formula to get the answer, so you need your instructor to help you understand why and how.

My AP Stats teacher is a nice guy, but he’s an awful teacher. I’m a senior and our midterms finished yesterday so we’re on Christmas break. I scored an 88% on the midterm exam and ended with a low A.

During my sophomore year, I never took any Ap classes, but I took 3 honors classes (adv. Algebra, English, and chemistry). Depending on how good you are at math, I would be wary about taking ap stats. You need to have at least taken adv. Algebra honors because you learn a lot of probability. This year (senior year) am taking 4 Ap classes and it is manageable.
