Next year I'll be a Sophomore in HS and I am planning on taking 4 AP classes.
The ones I choose are:
AP Art History
AP US History
AP Human Geography
AP US Government(semester)
All of my other classes are regulars, and I'm on the Soccer and Track teams(so around 4-5 hours of practice per week.) What do you think? I want to do something with Social Studies in college. Thanks for answering:D

What about your math class? I recommend taking Honors Precal/Algebra II

I’ll be doing Algebra 1(my HS is wierd, we do Algebra 1 Sophomore year, and Geometry and Algebra 2 Junior year, and AP Stats Senior year. I know its wierd;D

That is really weird! Your school is behind in math, but it seems to be really ahead in things like history and social studies.

Just out of curiosity, what did you take for math your freshman year?

We have every AP class you can take, for every subject except math… Unless your in the engineering program, then you take online AP math classes.

*We dont have some of the AP languages either.

I’d substitute the Human Geography for an English or Science.

And 4-5 hours practice for soccer/track seems low – ours is twice that.

take a science ?

That seems manageable :)

Your APs are good but the math concens me. Your school is between 2-4 years behind the pace to be able to succeed on SAT and get into a good college. I would recomend droping one of the AP classes and then arranging to take math online at EPGY or some other self paced math class. Ideally you should finish algebra 2 or precalc by the end or sophomore year. It’s ok to be one year behind as long as you finish calc by senior year. Even social studies students will be expected to have completed calculus inorder to get into good colleges.
Good luck!

Definitely try to get ahead in math. I was a sophomore taking Honors Algebra II and felt behind… 3 social studies in one year is silly, even if that’s what you want to go into. I’d definitely go for an English class or a Science class. Maybe try self studying Ap Human Geography; it is very simple so I’ve heard, especially if you are advanced in Social Studies.
