AP classes that important ??

(i posted this on the wrong section and dont know how to undo it so here it is again)…This is going to be hard to explain but I’ll try, ask anything and i will reply. So i go to this pretty small charter school that only offers 2 AP classes. I’m taking them both this year (AP biology and AP calculus). I was thinking of switching schools next year so i can have more options of AP and for college to see and such. Should i just stay in this school and take whatever (the highest) things they offer, since colleges look at what the school had to offer before deciding whether you took a good amount (of AP classes) or not? This would make it easier on me honestly, or should I go to another school and be taking more AP and would that higher my chances of getting into a good college ? Thank you in advance !

It depends on what you’re thinking when you say “a good school” Despite what CC might lead you to believe, most people in high school don’t take any AP classes, or maybe just one all four years. There are lots of good and even great schools that aren’t ivies

So if a college sees that the school only offered two APs and saw i took them does it put me at the same level as someone who took 4 ? Also I think UF

A college is going to want to see that you challenged yourself given the courses your school offers. If it only offers 2 AP’s, then you won’t be at a disadvantage for only taking 2.

That said, your “regular” courses at a charter school are probably on par with many AP-level courses. Also, in your other post, you said you will be doing some dual enrollment. You’re covered, then. Don’t worry about it.

If you’re looking into UF you don’t need to take a boat load of APs to get in. I personally took a bunch of APs in highschool but I have friends who also got into UF and only one or two APs, and other friends who just did honors classes. Also colleges know if your school doesn’t offer that many APs so they won’t hold that against you. As long as you hold a steady GPA and get good scores on SAT/ACT you should have a fair/good shot at UF.
