I took four APs my junior year and got A’s and B’s and passed all my test;however, I’m only taking two my senior year due to the schools new schedule. I want to go to UCI. How much does this change in AP classes effect my chance of getting in? Should I sign up for one more AP?
If you are otherwise well qualified, i wouldn’t worry about it.
Taking a rigorous HS schedule is what is important. The UC GPA calculation caps AP courses for extra honors credit at 8 semesters so you have reached the maximum honors points at this point. As long as you continue to challenge yourself in HS, you should be fine. UC GPA and test scores will be the important aspect of your application, not how many AP classes you have taken.
