AP Classes.....

My current course list for the upcoming year contains seven classes, three of which are AP and four that are honors. I think I should drop a class to take a study hall since most of my classes are going to be very difficult BUT I can only drop one of my APs. Are two AP classes enough? I am going into my junior year and I have never taken an AP before.

Which classes? Which APs?
What your GPA? What grades did you get in the subjects related to the APs you’re taking?

Two APs will be enough for most universities. If you want to go to Stanford or Harvard you pretty much need straight A+'s in many AP classes and some other major hook and a lot of luck. For “normal” very good universities two are fine.

I’m currently signed up for AP physics, AP art history, and AP psychology but if I drop one it will be psychology. My weighted GPA is a 4.0 (didn’t get the best grades freshman year). I’m very good at algebra and science in general but not so much history (although the AP art history class is known to be very easy in my school).

These three AP S should be okay - what’s the drop add period like at your school?
You can certainly drop AP psychology and take a free period since you have six academic classes otherwise, but keep the schedule where you think you can get A/Bs while getting 8hours of sleep a night. If seven academic periods won’t let you do that, then drop one class.
What colleges are you aiming for (what are your current targets?)

I would honestly recommend keeping the AP Psychology and dropping AP Physics. I took AP Psychology and got an A in the class with not a lot of homework but when I took AP Physics I got at least an hour of homework per day which was very challenging. I also got a B- in that class.

If you drop Psych you can self-study it if you have enough time. Self-study isn’t for everyone but it might be an option for you!
