Ap Credit At Usc

I received a 4 on the art history test. I saw that this counts as a GE credit for one of the categories, but can it also “double count” towards elective credit? In other words, will I receive the GE credit and elective credit? Also, how does AP testing work with the thematic option courses?

Perhaps someone with more TO experience can give a better answer, but my understanding is that you can only eliminate the GE I and III requirements. So your Art History eliminates one of your two supplementary “theme” courses. A science AP would eliminate the other.

And I don’t think you can double-count the credit.

I’m still confused on how elective credits help you if you want to double major. Can anyone explain that to me? Does that mean that they would lesson the amount of classes you have to take to complete that major, even if they AP classes themselves weren’t necessarily related to that major? If it helps I’m a theater major looking at double majoring in the Dornsife College.
