AP Credit for English?

I realize that most Med Schools don't accept AP Credit. Is it the same for English? I am planning on taking 3 quarters of English (1 year) but with IB credit I can waive one of the quarters. Will this be fine for Med Schools?

kutibah, any answer would be right sometimes, wrong sometimes and completey useless to you in any event. I have researched this particular issue with a number of med schools my D is considering . You may find as I did that more than a few schools accept AP Credit for English. Some do not.

It is likely that many more schools will accept AP credit for English than would accept AP credit for one of the other pre-med reqs (another thing that I saw that some schools said was that if we met the English requirements for our undergraduate institution, then that would be okay as well). That said, all of them will not. The general advice is to go with the most stringent requirements and then you'll have all bases covered. So I'd take (and I did take, even though I had a semester's worth of English credit) an extra English course.
