AP credit in community college

do ccc's give you credit for ap tests, and if so is there anywhere that has specifics?

i'm going to santa monica, and i can't find anything about it.

The info is on page 24 of the 2006-07 SMC catalog, under "College Credit for Advanced Placement (AP) Tests". On page 37 you'll find "Applying Advanced Placement Credit to IGETC". However, I have been told by a UCLA admissions rep that the UCs will only give credit for English 1 for a score of 4 or 5, not for a 3, so it might be wise to check with the Transfer Center for the latest credit info.

I talked to counselor at Express Counseling. She says that you receive units based on your scores (see pamavision's post) and your GPA will not be affected.
You can also meet your GE requirements depending on what test you took.

some community colleges let you take a higher course if you've taken ap calculus or ap english lang or lit
