Okay, so maybe I'm ignorant, but I was browsing threads from previous years and came across one regarding AP credit and medical school admissions. It could be a well-known fact that I somehow missed, but I had absolutely NO IDEA before today that some med schools didn't accept AP credit for premed requirements... or that some required AP credit to be "supplemented" for premed requirements.

I'm attending UNC undergrad and wouldn't mind attending medical school there; however, I hear it's extremely difficult to get in med school at UNC after attending its undergrad program. This doesn't make sense to me--I would think that Chapel Hill would just want good students, regardless of whether or not they'll be staying at the same school. I'm still going to apply to Chapel Hill's medical school, but I also hope to apply to those at Duke and Harvard.

At this link, wolfweb.unr.edu/~waites/Documents/MedSchAP08.pdf, I found a list of colleges that don't accept AP credit /accept AP credit with a supplement. UNC isn't listed, so I'm not worried. However, both Duke and Yale ARE listed as schools that require supplements.

Duke require that chem, bio, and physics be supplemented. So, does this mean that my math APs don't have to be supplemented? I took both Calculus and Stats in HS, made 100s in the courses, and made 4s on the AP exams. That being said, I HATE math--I don't want to take them again in college. However, does this supplementary requirement mean that I will need to? I don't have any problem with supplementing any of my other AP credits (bio, english, etc), but I don't want to take any other math courses.

Also, Harvard accepts calc, but it doesn't say anything about statistics. Hm.

If anyone has dealt with this and could help me, I'd be EXTREMELY appreciative. Making my schedule for freshman year is getting to be SO confusing... I took 10 APs in high school thinking that I was doing myself a favor, but that may not exactly be the case.
