AP Credit Question

I am a (possible) incoming McCormick freshman trying to decide which AP exams I should take this year.

My questions is whether or not I will receive credit for AP English Literature.

I have already taken AP English Language & Composition and received a 5. According to the McCormick website, I will receive 2 units of Theme or Unrestricted Elective credit and placement out of English 1X for this score.

If I get a 5 on the AP Literature exam, am I able to receive an addition 2 units of Theme or Unrestricted Elective credit, or would there be no point in taking the exam since I have already received as much English credit as possible? If there is no benefit to taking the exam, I would rather save the time/effort/money.

Thank you in advance!

Based on this page of theme examples, it seems like it would not only be worth credit, but potentially worth very useful credit.

I recommend calling or sending an email to NU to clarify.

@Iwannayoyo: Thank you. It looks like it would be worthwhile to take the exam.

@nugraddad: I think you are right. I’ll call NU to get a definitive answer. Thanks!
