i am interested in applying to the carroll school of management with a concentration in economics and was looking at their site wondering what their policy about AP credit is. It states, “All Carroll School of Management students, regardless of their area of concentration, are required to take Principles of Economics (EC 131-132) and Statistics (EC151 or EC155) as part of the CSOM Core. Students entering Boston College as freshmen are expected to take at least two of these in the College of Arts and Sciences, although placement will be granted for students who have a four or five on the relevant Advanced Placement exam.” what does that mean? im planning on taking AP micro and AP statistics next year, if i get a 4 or 5 on the AP exam does that mean i dont have to take the classes in college? if this is the case would i be in classes with other freshmen or would they be predominantly made up of sophomores?

AP tests passed with a four or higher are accepted as a completion of the requierement. Here is a link to the page where I got the info from: http://www.bc.edu/admission/undergrad/transfer/advancedstanding.html

ahhh ok thanks, looks like a 4/5 tests you out of the required classes but does not count as credit, so you can take more interesting classes.
