Hi, I have taken AP Physics B this year and am just finishing up, but am wondering whether or not I should take the AP test. I know that I do not want to waive physics in college (i'm an engineering major), because I feel that I would forget a lot of the material + I haven't really been paying much attention during the past couple months of school. If I take the AP test and pass (or get a score that is acceptable at the school I'm going to be attending next year - Northwestern), do I have to waive the class in college to get credits or can I just receive some type of "blank" credit for classes that will go towards my graduation fulfillment?

Even if they did waive the class requirement, it doesn’t mean you still can’t sign up for it.
