With AP tests these last two weeks I have some anxiety regaurding how I should use them for college next year. For example I took AP Chemistry and lets say I pass with a 3. Should I jump right to Organic chem or retake intro? This is why you're here. I would like you guys to post what AP Test you have taken and how that credit has influenced you in college.

Did you retake intro or skipped and if so, how was that decision? And any other experiences you can share regaurding your AP Credit.

Got a 5 on BC, skipped freshman calc and went straight into Calc 3. Great decision, my friends that didn’t place out had significantly harder problems than I did but didn’t learn the material any better.

Got a 4 on Chem, placed out of Chem I and Lab, but didn’t place out of Chem II. Took Chem II freshman year, and it was one of the easiest classes I took in college. My friends that hadn’t done AP Chem said it was really hard, though.

4 on Physics C: Newtonian. Had to retake, credit was only given for a 5. Class was easier than what I had to do in HS, but I fell asleep every day in class, so I’d miss where the professor would go HINT HINT THIS MIGHT BE ON AN EXAM and wound up with a high B.

5 on Physics C: E&M. Placed out, great choice since my friends that took it said it was one of their hardest classes.

US & Euro History: 4, placed me out of two intro history classes so I got to skip right into the upper-level electives which were a lot more interesting and graded considerably easier.

AP Computer Science: 5, placed out and still know how to program better than any of my friends that took intro.

I think that’s all of them. Looking back it probably would have been worth my time to actually study for the physics and chem exams since it would have opened up two more electives for me to take. Might have been more inclined to do my MS in four years instead of just graduating a semester early.

If it was something that directly pertained to your major, I’d consider retaking it. But if you are an Accounting major, and you just need a Chemistry class to fulfill a requirement of sorts, I’d leave it at that.

Thanks for your input.

Would anyone like to share their experience with AP psychology, world history, and comparative politics?

I passed quite a few AP’s, and got a 5 in ap music theory, bio, english, physics, calc.

only passed out of math when i started college
