AP credits at U of MN

U of MN has what seems a generous policy on granting AP credit for scores of 3 or higher. What is the experiences some of you had with getting AP credit there and how it compares to other places? Thanks.

I had a very hasslefree experience. I received a 3 in AP Calc and Lit and a 5 in US History and the credits were granted on my record with no trouble. I know other schools, including less selective schools (Carrol University in Milwaukee for example) want 4’s for some courses. I don’t mind the U accepting 3’s ;)

For those interested…here is the link to U of MN AP information. And thanks jotajota218 for the info. Confirms what we experienced. 20 credits for getting 3s on three exams and a 4 on another.

So, if I understand, it doesnt really matter whether you received 3,4 or 5 ( speaking of most of them )
You’re just getting same amount of credit as the guys with 5’s etc.?

hala27 – According to the U’s web site link posted above - with the exception of Music Theory and Calc B/C - it is correct that the U of MN gives the same credit for a 3, a 4 or a 5. Pretty nice, eh? Of course things could change from year to year…

very true, especially with all the cirriculm revamping that’s going on in every college. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them up the ante on the scores. but currently, very nice and easy. just get a good score and you get the credits. I got 6 from AP US history. One junior class, almost half of a college semester.
