AP credits in A&S

We are hoping for some advice and clarification on the use (or not) of multiple AP credits for A&S program (non-science/non-math major). Daughter will have far more than the 18 credits allowed (10 AP classes) and wants to use them wisely. We know they can't be used for AXLE credits, but need help in how to actually put them to good use.
Questions: If you have a 5 in an AP class, does this prevent you from taking the equivalent class---example with a 5 in AP Calc AB can you still take Calc 155?
Also, if you transfer more than 18 hours, according to the paperwork we recently received, your hours required to graduate increase that many hours. She is not sure which AP credits she might use in the future, and we are wondering if she transfers all the AP credit she might possibly use, will her hours required for graduation increase even if she does not use the AP credit? Bottom line: what's the best way to use AP credits?

AP credits arent going to hurt you. you can choose to use them whenever you want in any way that is advantageous to you

Talk to someone in the Registrar’s office. We found them to be very helpful in sorting out this sort of thing.

AP credits do not prevent you from taking any classes. However, if you take a class at Vandy that is equivalent to the AP credit class, the AP credits will no longer appear being that they will now be “replaced” by the actual class at Vandy.
